So you peeped the kicks, but the sneakers weren’t the only stars to grace the floor of 30 Rock last Tuesday at Foot Locker’s annual On Our Feet fund-raising gala. Athletes and celebrities alike, donning traditional black-tie attire while sporting their favorite athletic shoes mingled elbow to elbow with some of the giants of the footwear industry. On Tuesday, October 21st Foot Locker Foundation, Inc. hosted the eighth annual “On Our Feet” fundraising Gala in New York City’s renowned Rainbow Room. For the past five years, the event has benefited the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) through a scholarship program to provide deserving students the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
The dress code was black-tie and sneakers, and the result was impressive. Business executives, athletes and celebrities brought their A game, breaking out quality kicks that shined bright like the NYC skyline that surrounded us. I’ll never wear wingtips again. Enjoy.
